For the Youth player that is training for a higher level of play in the 9v9 Formation

In 9v9 soccer, players should primarily focus on developing skills like positioning, passing accuracy, decision-making in open space, creating overloads by utilizing width, effective pressing, and strong 1v1 defending as the larger field allows for more attacking options and requires players to be adaptable in both attacking and defensive phases; depending on their position, they should also work on specific skills like dribbling, crossing, and finishing in front of goal.

Defenders:
Reading the game to anticipate attacks and intercept passes
Strong tackling technique
Effective communication with teammates to maintain defensive shape
Ability to cover large areas on the field
Midfielders:
Passing accuracy and vision to create attacking opportunities
Supporting play by creating triangles and moving into space
Ability to win tackles and transition play quickly
Adapting to both attacking and defensive roles depending on the situation
Forwards:
Finishing skills with both feet and heading
Movement off the ball to create space behind the defense
Dribbling ability to beat defenders in 1v1 situations
